WOODLEAF -- A motorist on Cool Springs Road noticed the rebar infrastructure of a bridge showing through a hole in the road's surface late Friday morning and, fearing for others' safety, personally began to block other vehicles from crossing the bridge.
The Woodleaf Fire Department was called to to help with traffic.
A Department of Transportation maintenance crew was on its way to the bridge around lunchtime.
A Rowan County dispatcher said the bridge is located near Depot Road.
