HARRISBURG — The Cabarrus County Sheriff's Office charged two people in a shooting Thursday morning in the Canterfield subdivision.
The victim, a 15-year-old boy, was found at his residence and taken to Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast in stable condition, according to a press release from the Sheriff's Office.
At 10:23 a.m., the boy called 911 from his home at 2051 Moss Creek Drive to report he had been shot in the chest, the press release said. Sheriff's deputies, Cabarrus EMS and Harrisburg firefighters responded.
Authorities later arrested two suspects near the scene of the shooting.
Caleb Richard Peterson, 16, of 6649 Sequoia Hills Drive, is charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, a felony; and possession of a firearm by a minor; resist, obstruct and delay an officer; and possession of drug paraphernalia, all misdemeanors. He was in the Cabarrus County jail Friday evening under an $8,000 bond.
Dmitriy Vladislavov Livetskiy, 20, of 7020 Winding Cedar Trail, is charged with giving a firearm to a minor, a felony, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, a misdemeanor. He was being held under a $4,000 bond.
