Seven young women will compete Saturday for the title of Miss Spencer-Rowan.

The Miss Spencer-Rowan Pageant is part of the Spencer Jaycee Street Dance, which will be held Saturday night in downtown Spencer.

The dance lasts from 7 to 11 p.m. and features the band Mid Life Crisis.

The seven contestants in the pageant are:

- Natalie Grace Bost, 19, of Faith.

Daughter of Lane and Traci Bost, she graduated from East Rowan High School and is a sophomore at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College. She works as a certified nursing assistant at Liberty Commons nursing home and received a nursing scholarship from Rowan Regional Medical Center.

Bost has performed in shows with Piedmont Players and was voted "most valuable" by the East Rowan Honors Chorus. She hopes to get a master's degree in nursing from Appalachian State University.

- Ebony Marquita Edwards, 24, of Salisbury.

Daughter of Anthony and Rosa Edwards, she graduated from Kinston High School and Catawba College.

Edwards works as a home manager for RHA Health Services and is a member of the Civitans. She takes dance classes and previously taught hip hop dance for competition at Salisbury Civic Center. She aspires to become a professional cheerleader.

- Sherri Shawni Hill, 23, of Salisbury.

Daughter of Althea Hill, of East Spencer, and the late Howard Solomon, She graduated from North Rowan High School and Catawba College, with a degree in sociology. She is a first-year graduate student at Capella University.

Hill works at the Family Crisis Council and leads the dance group and works with the youth group at her church.

- Kristin Anne Holshouser, 17, of Salisbury.

Daughter of Jeff and Dawn Holshouser, she is a senior at North Rowan High School and is considering attending the University of North Carolina at Wilmington to study physical therapy.

Holshouser works at Hendrix Barbecue. She was 2008 All Observer Athlete of the Year, a N.C. Scholar Athlete and All County in softball and volley ball the past two years. She hopes to play softball at UNC-Wilmington.

- Kayla Elizabeth Love, 18, of Faith.

Daughter of John and Beth Love, she is a 2008 graduate of Carson High School and a freshman nursing student at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College.

Love has worked at Faith Lutheran Church summer camp and Love's Auto. She was the Faith Jaycee 2007 Outstanding Teenager of the Year, coached Upward Bound cheerleading and qualified two years for the regional meet in outdoor track.

- Hayley Bryn Mikkelson, 17, of Salisbury.

Daughter of Dan and Winnie Mikkelson, she is a senior at Salisbury High School, where she is a member of the varsity cheerleading squad and student government secretary.

Mikkelson has been an all-county cheerleader the past two years and a Miss Teen North Carolina merit finalist and earned the Salisbury High Honors Chemistry Award.

- Brittany Marie Taylor, 19, of Salisbury.

Daughter of Glenn and Kim Taylor, she graduated from Salisbury High School and is a sophomore at Campbell University.

Taylor has worked at Ivan's restaurant and the Hurley YMCA. She was named to the Dean's and President's lists and is a member of Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society and Phi Alpha Delta Prelaw Society.
