East Spencer Blotter: Woman faces drug charges after stop for license check

Melissa Renee Lyerly, of Faith, was cited on a charge of possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance at a license checkpoint on Aug. 4, according to the East Spencer Police Department.

Other incidents reported recently by the department include:

- Alton Hill of Salisbury was arrested Aug. 5 on a charge of possession of a Schedule II controlled substance near the 400 block of East Henderson Street. Hill was placed in the Rowan County Detention Center under $1,000 bond.

- Patricia Williams of Salisbury received a citation Aug. 6 on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. She was released on a promise to appear later in court.

- Fred Moore of Salisbury reported his scooter stolen Aug. 10 from 926 S. Long St.

- James Edward Trexler Jr., of Spencer, was charged Aug. 11 with possession of a Schedule II controlled substance and placed in the Detention Center under $500 bond.
