China Grove and Landis funeral home Linn-Honeycutt will be under new ownership starting in 2010.
Service Corp. International, a funeral home operator, is to buy Keystone North America, Inc., which is the parent of the Charlotte funeral home Hankins and Whittington, which also owns Linn-Honeycutt.
"I don't think this is going to affect anything as far as funeral homes go," said Linn-Honeycutt manager Taylor Cumberworth. "Business will go on as usual."
Cumberworth said he and his employees participated in a conference call informing them of the changes.
"The benefits will be a lot better for our employees," said Cumberworth. "I'm sure it'll be a good company to continue to work with, and I feel like it'll be a smooth transition."
